There is a proverb that goes, “Prosperity is what gives us friends, but adversity is what proves them.” Nothing could be more appropriate in describing the situation of insurance brokers, who had to prove individuals to the clients they serve in the face of the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic. The pandemic presented an opportunity for Cowan Insurance Group’s customers to develop a deeper appreciation for the function of a broker in the provision of counsel and direction brought about by the pandemic. Additionally, it enables Cowan’s clients to gain access to resources such as risk management tools, benchmarking, and analytics, which can assist them in mitigating risk and making decisions that are more informed.

Not only was the TechAssure consortium formed in the midst of the pandemic, but the decision to include Cowan in it was also made with the clientele of Cowan’s Toronto office in mind. According to the executive director of TechAssure, Garrett Droege, Toronto is “one of the most important technology hubs in North America.” This makes Cowan’s participation in TechAssure particularly noteworthy.
