AXIS Capital hires an underwriter

Dan Draper will take over as group chief underwriting officer at AXIS Capital Holdings, according to an announcement made by the company. A former group head of underwriting for the company, Draper most recently held this position. His primary residence is in London. As part of his new responsibilities, he will become a member of the executive committee of the company and will answer to Albert Benchimol, the president and CEO of AXIS Capital.

In his new position, Draper will be in charge of directing the consolidation of AXIS Capital’s underwriting analytics and support services into a single division, which he will also be in charge of supervising. In addition to this, he will collaborate with the underwriting divisions of the organization on portfolio strategy and governance, which will include exposure management, and will also be responsible for driving innovation in products and services for clients.

The appointment was only one of the recent moves that the corporation said they would be doing.
